MEET THE BOARD
I am Rene' Nasluchacz, Executive Director and mom of 2019 graduate Christian, Bari Sax/Wind Ensemble/Marching Band/Winter Guard member throughout high school.
The band programs impacted our son's life and our lives with rich life experiences, strong relationships, and team building opportunities. We attended our first General BPO meeting when Christian was in eighth grade and became fascinated by the CVHS Band programs offered as well as the growth of the bands under Mr. Kozacek's leadership. Thanks to a boundary exception approval, we have been active members ever since! Even though Christian recently graduated, my husband Franz (the band truck driver) and I are committed to continuing our commitment with the BPO. Certainly, it is in giving that we receive.
I have had the honor of serving as the CVHS BPO President for two years and member@large last year. I am amazed by the growth, accomplishments, and inspired by our young adults each day.
It has taken me several decades to realize inspiration comes from within and is fueled by thoughts, words, actions, habits, and character. I am in awe of the persistence of our bands, guard members, and devoted staff because they are focused, resilient, enthusiastic, and bold.
Though my formal education and profession includes several leadership degrees, these things take a backseat to my volunteer experiences at Campo, our church, foster care programs, and numerous homeless advocacy groups. The most precious components of life rest within building relationships, creativity through music & art, compassion for others, and people sharing life connected.
The CVHS Band Program brings all of these treasures to the forefront, shining light in the dark places and forever leaving fingerprints on all who choose to be involved. I am privileged to continue my involvement with the BPO. I wouldn't miss it for the world! The BEST is yet to come!
Since serving on the board as the Treasurer last year, I am continuously amazed at how well our board works together for the common goal of building up of our kids, the band program and our Directors.
We work well together, and band has become a second family to me. I strongly believe in the program and want to assist our Directors as they continue to teach and help our kids grow. I have always been very impressed with the amount of band parents who come together to volunteer; all with a common goal to help our kids do great! It is an honor to continue to help the BPO with their success this year.
My oldest son performs for the Jazz band, Marching Band, Winter Drum Line and is a mentor to United Sound. I have a wide range of executive and financial experience with the ownership of several companies, as well as an extensive background in marketing and event planning. My interests include architecture, painting, spending time with family and traveling.
My name is Merritt Menefee-Johnson and this is my first year as Secretary for the BPO. My son, Spencer, plays sousaphone (Marching Band), concert tuba (Wind Ensemble) and bass trombone (Jazz Band). My husband, Dan, and I have been active volunteers for the BPO, and I wanted to become as involved as possible. The experiences I had as an orchestra and marching band member thru High School were invaluable to me growing up. I’m very glad that my two sons enjoy music and being active with the Campo Verde and Ashland Ranch music programs.
Professionally, I am a Senior Commercial Interior Designer, currently working remote and designing office spaces in the Bay Area. I have taught Interior Design courses at ASU, NAU, and MCC, and enjoy the interaction with young adults.
I’m also a glass artist and enjoy creating art for public installations and for residences. I am a juried artist co-op member of TheStore Art Gallery, located at Mesa Art Center. For the co-op, I have served on the Jury, Marketing and Exhibit committees for more than 4 years, actively helping to promote TheStore on social media and in print. I’m excited to serve alongside the other band parents, to help with creative ideas to support its goals, and to help support the program needs.
My son Kaden is a Junior this year and his passion is Music. More specifically playing the drums. When your child has a passion for something, their passion becomes Your passion and you want to help them with their dream. This coming year I have found that I can help him by taking on the roll of Treasurer and dedicating my time to work with Campo Staff and the BPO Team. I am an Office Manager responsible for payroll, A/P, A/R and all other financial obligations for the company I work with. I look forward to working as Treasurer this year with the BPO team!!

My name is Stacy Norton and the 2019-2020 school year will be our second year in the Campo Verde band program. My oldest son plays euphonium/tuba in the band and sousaphone in the marching band. We also have an eighth grader at South Valley who can’t wait to be on the drum line at Campo Verde. I participated in band and guard during high school at Dobson and believe the benefits of music programs are many as it teaches our children things beyond just how to play music. Parent support is important to the success of the program and I am excited to be a member at large this year on the board.

I moved to Gilbert, with my wife Jill (GPS Employee @ Mesquite Elementary School) 15 years ago specifically for the school system. I have been a Gilbert small business owner for 6 years.
I have three kids; one son Eli (14 years old; incoming Freshman at Campo) & daughters Kaydin (11) and Lainey (9) both at Mesquite Elementary. When Eli was in Kindergarten I started the Mesquite Dad’s Group, a parent organization that raises money for items such as; Playground equipment, Musical Instruments & Library books.
I remain on the board of the Mesquite Dad’s Group today and also hold a position on the board of the local chapter of a National Engineering Society (ASHRAE).
When not taking kids to their sports and extracurricular activities, I play softball and golf and enjoy participating in corn hole tournaments.
