MEET THE BOARD

Executive Director

Stacy Norton

My name is Stacy Norton. This is my eighth year helping out the Campo Verde band program. Both my boys have graduated and are on to new adventures, this year I continuing my role as executive director to help guide this amazing band program. We have the best parent support both on the board and volunteers for all our programs.

My oldest son Samuel plays euphonium/tuba and is now the visual caption head for a high school in Tucson while he attends the UofA. He spent two years on the Pride of Arizona marching band after graduating from Campo. My youngest son Benjamin will also be at UofA in the fall.

I participated in band and guard during high school at Dobson and believe the benefits of music programs are many as it teaches our children things beyond just how to play music. Parent support is important to the success of the program and I am excited to continue to be part of the board.

Liz Griggs

I am Liz Griggs, mom of Charity (bari sax/sousa, class of 2026), Arwen (trombone/drum major, class of 2022), Jaina (honorary 4th grade CV band member), and "Mama Griggs" to many of the CV band kids. My husband, Brian, and I were both in band (concert, jazz, marching, etc) in high school, and it is so fun to watch our girls flourish in the Campo band programs.

It has been one of the greatest blessings in my life to be a part of the band family at CVHS. Since 2018, I have volunteered in many capacities - from pushing equipment to organizing or sewing uniforms to coordinating meals to running various events for the program... if there is a Campo band function, you are likely to find me there! My experiences with the band directors and BPO board members has been one of the best working teams I have been a part of. There is no other program I'd rather have my children in. I love to help wherever I can and spend time with the CV band kids and their awesome families!

Professionally, I am choir director at South Valley Junior High in Gilbert. In what free time I have, I love to sing, cook, bake, host parties, and watch movies.

Amber Klasen

My name is Amber Klasen. My daughter Haleigh is currently a freshman, trombone/baritone, and eats, sleeps, and breaths all things band. She has found her people just as I did…let’s just say many years ago (Go flutes!). I proudly volunteered at various events to help uphold and support the Campo Verde band program. I quickly learned how talented, hardworking, and passionate these kids and staff are. This being my first year at Campo Verde I’ve been blessed to get to know many dedicated parents and band families. My goal is to keep this program strong. This would be my first year on the board and everyone before has made it wonderful for my daughter. I feel blessed to be able to keep it going for those after.

VP of Fundraising

Crystal Holman

My name is Crystal Holman, I am VP of Fundraising. My son, Connor Holman is a junior this year, he played bass drum 5 in marching band for the past two years and was a part of CVIPE last year. This year, he is the bass drum section leader and plays bass 2. He also plays percussion for concerts. Our family does not have a musical background, besides ‘liking music of all kinds”, so it has been fun watching him grow on this musical path. I have enjoyed helping in various ways, including uniform fittings, football games, band camp meals, volunteering and spectating at marching band competitions and attending concerts for the last two years. Being VP of Fundraising, I hope to help facilitate any current and new fundraisers for the program. There’s just something about band kids! They’re hard working, team players and just a super fun group of kids to be around! I would 100% encourage any student to give band and/or marching band a try! Also, parents, the best way to get a backstage/front row ticket is to be involved and volunteer if you are able! I am so happy Connor is a part of it and I am happy to help in any way possible!

VP of Events

katie Kinnaman

Hi! My name is Katie Kinnaman, mom of Grace, a sophmore in the trumpet section. I am also mom to future CVHS marching band members Isaac and Caleb.

Our family has deep roots in marching band. My mom was in band. My siblings were in band. I played clarinet in my HS band where I met my husband, Kyle. In college, I moved on to play the baritone/euphonium in U of A's marching and pep bands. It is now so fun to see my kids loving band as well, especially now that they have all moved out of the 'Hot Crossed Buns' stage.

We feel very blessed to be a part of the Campo band program, and that our daughter has found such a passion for music and a great place to grow. Mr. Kozacek, the staff, and the BPO provide so many wonderful opportunities for the students to develop as musicians and friends, and I am happy to be able to help.
