Marching Band Camp

Band camp will be held at Campo Verde HS this year. This is a mandatory traditional rehearsal that takes place before school starts for the marching band members to begin learning marching technique, music and begin working on the show (musically and visually). If you are not at band camp, you are not guaranteed a spot in the show.

Please email with any conflicts so that it may be resolved! The Marching Band includes all Wind Instrument players, Percussionists, and Colorguard.

PRELIMINARIES

  •  8:30 am            Load trailer

  • 9:15 am            *Trailer leaves for Desert Ridge HS (10045 E Madero Ave  Mesa AZ)

  • 10:15 am          Arrive at Desert Ridge HS and unload trailer (own transportation)

  • 10:45 am          *Pit Crew volunteers arrive to move from trailer to warmups (then help props)

  • 10:45 am          *Prop Crew volunteers arrive to panel the towers – meet at trailer

  • 11:00 am          Warm-ups / Run-throughs

  • 11:00 am          *Water Crew makes sure battery & front ensemble have water bottles

  • 12:56 pm          Push to Warmup B (Pit Crew to help pit move – leave props by 12:45)

  • 1:16 pm            Push to Ready line

  • 1:21 pm            Ready line

  • 1:31 pm           Performance

  • 1:41 pm            Fold floor / block instruments by trailer

  • 1:50 pm            Eat lunch (bring lunch or buy concessions – bring money!)

  • 2:01 pm            Watch other preliminaries (Flux & Vision 2:01 & 2:11, Breakthrough at 2:24)

  • 1:50 pm            *Pit Prop & Water volunteers can leave and come back for Finals*

FINALS

  • 5:30 pm earliest            Warm-ups / Run-throughs

  • 5:30 pm earliest            *Water crew make sure battery & front ensemble have water bottles

  • 6:35 pm earliest            *Pit & Prop Crew volunteers arrive for Finals (6:35 – 7:15)

  • 6:40 pm earliest            Push to Warm-up A,B or C  (6:40 – 7:20)

  • 7:00 pm earliest            Push to Ready Line  (7:00 – 7:40)

  • 7:05 pm earliest            Ready line    (7:05 – 7:45)

  • 7:15 pm earliest            Performance  (7:15 – 7:55)

  • 7:25 pm earliest            Fold floor / block trailer (7:25 – 8:05)

  • 7:40 pm earliest            Back in to eat and for Awards (Captains only Retreat) at 8:39

  • 7:25 pm earliest            *Prop & Pit Crew volunteers take apart the towers and load the towers (7:25 – 8:05)

  • 9:15 pm                        Pack Trailer

  • 9:45 pm                        *Trailer leaves for CVHS

  • 9:45 pm                        Leave for CVHS

  • 10:30 pm                      Unload trailer at CVHS

  • 11:15 pm                      Dismiss

The time ranges under the finals are due to not knowing the order until after the preliminaries.


ADMISSION:            

 $12 Preliminaries, $15 Finals, $20 Both


NUTRITION:

Pack a snack AND bring money for lunch & dinner at concessions


PERFORMANCE ATTIRE:

   Uniform

Area Jazz Festival

Area Jazz Festival

This Thursday, Green and Copper Jazz are headed to Mesa HS for our area festival.  Tomorrow the members will be coming home with a permission slip that must be signed and returned on Thursday.  We will be taking a bus.  Students need to pack a lunch for the day.  There should also be concessions available, but I'm not sure what there will be and it might just be snacks.

Here is our schedule for the day:

  • 8:30 am - Excused from class (2nd hour); pack up equipment

  • 9 am - Load bus and depart

  • 9:45 am - Arrive at festival; unload

  • 10:30 am - Green Jazz Warm-up

  • 11:00 am - Green Jazz Performance

  • 11:30 am - Green Jazz Clinic

  • noon - Copper Jazz Warm-up

  • 12:30 pm - Copper Jazz Performance

  • 1:00 pm - Copper Jazz Clinic

  • 1:30 pm - Load bus and depart for CVHS

  • 2:15 pm - Arrive back at school and unload

Parents are welcome to attend and watch our performances!  Please park in the southwest lot near the aquatic center and walk north on Harris to the auditorium. Thank you!

Join us for the Coyote Band “Sounds of the Season” concert! It will be filled with Christmas classics, including Michael Collins-Dowden's "Big Noise From the North Pole," Alan Baylock's arrangement of "Go Tell It On The Mountain," and Roger Holmes arrangement of "Christmas Time is Here" composed by Vince Guaraldi, among other popular selections.
