CVHS Band Auditions - Jazz II, Symphonic, & Wind Ensemble

 

Audition materials for next year are now available for your 8th grade student to start working on!

Here are a few important notes:

  1. We will be scheduling with Mr. Bannon a time in mid to late April to come to SVJH and listen to students who want to audition.

  2. Auditions ARE NOT required.  Student can stay in Concert Band or Jazz Band I if they would like.  Auditions are only for students who wish to play in Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble or Jazz Band II.  That being said, many advanced 8th graders will qualify for Symphonic Band and a few for Wind Ensemble.  It never hurts to try!

  3. On the concert audition material, there are two etudes.  If students only want to try out for Symphonic Band, they have to prepare the first etude only.  If they want to try for Wind Ensemble, they must prepare both.  If they want to audition for Jazz Band II, they must prepare the full jazz etude.

  4. The scales selected will be communicated the day of the audition.
